Black students are three times more likely to be suspended or expelled from school.
While people of color make up about 30 percent of the United States’ population, they account for 60 percent of those imprisoned.
From 2005 to mid-2008, approximately 80 percent of total stops made by the NYPD were of Blacks, who comprise 25% of the city’s population. Only 10 percent of stops were of Whites, who comprise 44 percent of the city’s population.
Once convicted, black offenders receive longer sentences compared to white offenders.
Black households have only 10 cents in wealth for every dollar held by white households.
